New Year’s Resolution: Losing Weight and Sticking to the Plan Week #5-7

Hello World! I know, I know I’ve been neglecting this page. I’ve dread doing this blog because I didn’t think I’ve been on point with the “plan”: Losing Weight and Sticking to the Plan. You see I’ve been ill and couldn’t get myself to go to the gym or do an at home cardio workout. If you’re sick as a dog don’t overdo it. It’s true working out will help make you get better but it only depends on how sick you are and what kind of sickness you have. So in my case, if you have a stomach flu stay home, relax your body and stay hydrated. That’s about the only activity your body can handle. Plus you need as much energy for the kiddos if you have kids. With all this being said my energy level has gone down so rest is calling my name. In the meantime drink lots of water and rest, rest, rest.

Good Morning World! Hope you had a great week! January’s soon coming to an end and we’ve made it this far with keeping true to our New Year’s resolution. Well at least I am. I hope your reading my blogs will keep you motivated and stick to the plan.

This past week I re-visited the gym and got my groove back. Some people like to listen to music while they exercise. I like to watch television. Well after an hour’s working out and seeing food commercials after food commercials, my stomach started growling and I was ready to eat! I had to think fast on what’s healthy to eat for lunch. Ever tried grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup?

This week I’m going to mix Tae-Bo at home and heading out to the gym. It’s good to spice things up just so you don’t get bored with the same routine. I get bored easily so here’s to getting back on track. You can also go with an exercise buddy. Having a good support system helps and I suggest you have one.

Well I’d better get going and get ready to head out to the gym. I’m taking my baby with me (it always helps when there’s a childcare center at the gym if you don’t have a sitter at home) and we’ll be back home in an hour! Don’t forget to drink lots of water and stay hydrated!

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had a more productive week than mine. Have you heard of the phrase “Yo-Yo Diet”? Well, sadly to say I used the weight scale and and it read 144.6 and just three days ago it went back up 1 lb.! Maybe it was the breakfast and lunch all together. But I’ll keep on grinding. If you’re like me maybe we shouldn’t expect to lose all in a short pan of time. Got to remember it takes time and moderation. There I’ve said it. Now if I could keep repeating that to myself every day.

Physical exercise is just not the only way to lose weight, so don’t feel too bad if you’ve skipped a day or two out of your routine. Don’t forget running after your kids and cleaning house is another way to lose weight, if and only if you end up sweating in the process ;) .

Alright so let’s keep on grinding and see if we could at least lose 1/2 lb per week to start off with. And soon after we’ll focus on loosing 1 lb/wk. And don’t forget to guzzle up to H2O! Stay hydrated, stay healthy and have fun at it!

We here at zenthat have been working on a number of things not related to zenthat (because life calls and beckons us too) and have been a little preoccupied and quiet. Words come to me at a time like this friends when I sit back and reflect on what it means to be an American.

The rights and privileges that we take for granted need and must be celebrated on this our United States of America’s birthday!

Many of us will BBQ, drink, partake in firecrackers (be safe), play softball and enjoy ourselves for having a “day off” as we should. But let’s not forget the many women and men who have and are serving our country proud. Let’s not forget the sacrifices that they themselves have made for us to enjoy today in all its glory. The true American spirit lies within and we must recognize it and be proud to be a part of it.

To all of you who have, are and will serve our country, may god bless you and your families. And for everyone, please have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July!

welcome back zenthat

zenthat is back and back to stay! sorry but we here at zenthat had to take a hiatus for a short little while. life caught up with my wife and I for a little bit on multiple fronts and we had to do the right thing, take off and focus in. life has thrown us all kinds of curves that were a bit to handle for sure. we’re talking everything from job issues, health issues, family issues, you name it, we have not been immune.

we felt the need to start zenthat back up regardless of what is on our plates because many of you have asked us too and we feel like ambassadors to trying to live a simple, focused, stress and drama free life. so why not do for the greater good than ourselves? after all, that is what we and life are all about right?
