The concept of pay it forward is simple: you do something good out of the goodness of your heart and expect nothing back in return except for those who you helped to help another in their time of need. Read more on Pay It Forward and how it got started here!

If you are the giving party, you must be 100% un-interested in taking any credit, paybacks or anything. You must be willing in your heart, mind and soul to simply just do good and expect nothing in return. This can be hard if you consider yourself a selfish person because you could look for the “kudos” or “paybacks” when they are not coming. It takes a lot to be able to give and give unconditionally. If you think you cannot do it, you can; you just need to pay yourself forward in order to do so for others!

If you are the receiving party, you must understand a few things in order to look at Pay It Forward in a positive light:

• Firstly, someone thought and cared enough about you to help you. Don’t look the gift horse in the mouth; thank it, don’t forget about it and but reconcile it!
• Secondly, be grateful, not guilty. Think about this one for a little bit and you will know what I mean!
• Lastly, you must be willing to do the first and second points above to be able to do the third here. Pay It Forward! When someone else is in need and if you can help them, help them and do it “unconditionally”. If you do it expecting something back, then don’t waste your time. There should be not agenda when doing step three otherwise you will never fully comprehend and understand the purpose of Pay It Forward!

Recently, my wife and I have had many opportunities to Pay It Forward and they have been awesome! The satisfaction we received from helping was so amazing that it cannot really be described. We felt good helping and we made some good life friends out of it! We hope and wish that more would learn and promote Pay It Forward. It truly is something spectacular!
